This week, two friends and I carved out some time to visit Forest Park. It looks like the rain has started so I think we made it just in time. Everyone says this, but it's amazing to be so immersed in nature only minutes from the city. It felt like we were literally wrapped up in the autumn season; crisp, cool air and leaves of every shade....
Eight left to go: 10. Movie Brewpubs 9. Strip Clubs 8. Voodoo Donuts 7. Lan Su Chinese Garden 6. Food Cart Tour 5. International Rose Test Garden 4. Powell's Books 3. Microbrews and Spirits 2. Ride Over The Bridges 1. Forest Park
I've been in my bedroom for over a month now and I have big dreams to make it my own (as much as I can being a renter) These will stay dreams until I have a stable income, but it doesn't hurt to plan right?
At the moment, I am focusing on a color palette. I lucked out with good wall color, nice hardwood floors, and the owner even left cute lace curtains! I used Sherwin Williams' handy "Colorsnap" App to determine my exact wall color and it even generates a color palette for you! Here's the colors I chose:
What do you think? The next step will be scouting around for inspiration for how to use these colors.
How was your Halloween? It's my favorite holiday, I love scary movies, dressing up in costume, and most of all candy. Yikes, I have been eating waaay too much, BUT I blame it on the lack of trick-or-treaters we had last night, what happened?! Only two groups, so disappointing and detrimental to my candy addiction.
Halloween has always been so much fun for me. Growing up, my best friend and I would trick or treat for hours and come back with a paper grocery bag FULL of candy (no joke, we took it very seriously!) And as an adult I continue to dress up and living in New Orleans definitely played into my love of Halloween. It's like a mini Mardi Gras!
Whew, it's been a busy week! Who knew unemployment could be so exhausting?! I'm relieved that October is over because it's apparently a big month for events here in Portland (I guess they're trying to squeeze everything in before winter?) but now I'm not sure what to do with myself....something to think about this weekend, but for now here's some things I "Stumbled Upon" today:
Foodgawker - dangerous time suck, but I have some broccoli I need to cook and I'm thinking of making the "Broccoli Cornbread Muffins"
